Cutting boards
A good cutting board is more than just a kitchen utensil
Cutting boards are the first requirement in every kitchen, both for professional use and for home use. What should a good cutting board meet? First of all, you should always think about the preservation of your kitchen knives when choosing a cutting board. This means that you are better off choosing cutting boards that are made of natural wood.
The knives stay sharp much longer than with a plastic board. That is why we have cutting boards made of natural mango wood in our webshop where knives stay sharp longer, so that the cutting edge lasts longer.
Our cutting boards do not absorb odors from products
Our cutting boards are made of real mango, acacia or walnut wood that does not absorb odors from products, which is why they are also perfect to use not only as kitchen utensils, but also as a serving board. Surprise customers or guests in an original way by serving tapas or cheese on various models available in our webshop.
In some kitchens you see that they work with one board on which all products are cut, this is very unhygienic. It is wise to have multiple boards to prevent cross-contamination. A board on which raw meat or fish has been cut, you cannot cut vegetables or salad on afterwards. Even if you wash the boards with hot water and detergent, there is still no guarantee that germs and bacteria will not end up in the stomach. That is why it is always advisable to have multiple kitchen boards.
Presentation is also important
Presentation can be an important factor when choosing the right board. A delicious roast presented on a dirty kitchen board will reduce the appetite at a dinner party. The right board for the right product or dish can do wonders. Therefore, choose the shape of board that best suits the preparation or presentation.
It is often thought that plastic kitchen shelves are more hygienic than wooden shelves, but an American study from 1994 showed that this is not the case. It is best to carefully clean wooden shelves by hand with a diluted ammonia-based solution. And let's be honest, when it comes to presentation, the aesthetics of wooden kitchen shelves are considered to be considerably better than those of plastic.
