Stock accessories
Stockpiling is often linked to a crisis. Someone delivering for a supermarket on Saturday noticed shortly before an ultimatum expired that he had to deliver more macaroni and rice. In the spring of 2020 when the coronavirus manifested itself in the Netherlands, there was a run on certain products. But still, even if there is no crisis, it can be nice to have some products in stock.
Preserving vegetables is back
Some products should be in stock. For example, there should be a pack of coffee behind the canister with ground coffee, because suppose you have visitors. A kitchen without rice, sugar, salt, and macaroni is incomplete, and there must also be enough spices. Every refrigerator should contain sauces such as mayonnaise, and milk and eggs should not be missing. All in all, you will soon have a hundred or maybe two hundred euros worth of food on hand. Particularly practical is to store as much as possible in storage containers. Practical containers are commercially available in which you can mainly store goods such as rice and macaroni. If you have a vegetable garden, preserving is very hip. It is an old technique for preserving fruit or vegetables. The method is easy to find online, there are even YouTube videos on how to make beetroot and other vegetables sustainable.
The supermarket is almost always open, but still in stock
The time when the supermarket closes at six o'clock in the evening is passé. The same goes for not being able to buy anything anywhere on Sunday, in fact you can always avoid that forgotten message if you miss out. Despite this situation, the desire to have a stock has remained, and rightly so. But be careful not to overdo it, and that certainly applies to the freezer. Frozen products deteriorate in quality if frozen for a long time. Put a freezing date on the product and consume it in time.
